Marvel’s Wolverine is Insomniac’s next big project. Following leaks, it’s known that the team aims to launch this title in the coming years, though no official information has been shared since the initial reveal.
There’s no telling when Insomniac will share more on this project, but one interesting development has been spotted. Multiple developers have departed the project to focus on new games.
Why it matters: Developers typically move on from projects once their work is done. Therefore, Insomniac may have hit important milestones in Marvel’s Wolverine’s development.
According to her LinkedIn post, Mary Kenney has just started working at CDPR today.
Mary Kenney was the associate narrative director on Marvel’s Wolverine, and she previously helped bring games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart to life.
Her new role will see the developer pitch story beats for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. She will also be responsible for quests, dialogue writing, and more. However, what’s more interesting is that she isn’t the only developer to have left Insomniac recently.
A while back, Aaron H also left the team. He worked as the art director of Marvel’s Wolverine and has now joined CDPR. These departures suggest that the team has made more progress than anticipated.
This is also great news for fans who have been looking forward to learning more about the game. Perhaps PlayStation will share an official gameplay preview very soon.
Not too long ago, CDPR also hired Fable’s lead writer.
Needless to say, the team has gathered quite a talented group of developers for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. While this game is still early in development, the studio may eventually create something very special.
As for Marvel’s Wolverine, leaks have pointed to various details, including a focus on battle damage, 60FPS gameplay, and a 15-hour playtime target. However, official information remains sparse for now.
