- The Day Before will be available in early access next month.
- Studio Fntastic has revealed the game’s system requirements.
- However, these requirements do not confirm the exact AMD hardware, supposedly relying on users researching on their own.
After months of controversies and delays, The Day Before is finally gearing up for an early-access launch.
Promising an expansive survival MMO experience, this title has previously earned flak for overpromising and stealing from other games. Still, with less than a month left before launch, many PC users are excited about the game.
Developer Fntastic has also revealed new system requirements ahead of this early access period. However, many users have found it odd that the studio has seemingly left the AMD equivalent hardware up for interpretation.
Why it matters: AMD has a massive presence in the PC gaming industry, both in the CPU and GPU departments, making it odd that The Day Before’s system requirements appear to ignore the company.
While the game boasts incredible visuals and stunning environments, its requirements are quite tame by the standard of most modern games. Asking for a GeForce GTX 1060 and an Intel Core i5-8400 at minimum, developer Fntastic appears to have put in a lot of time to optimize the MMO.
However, the studio does not clarify the AMD hardware. Simply stating that users should resort to the AMD equivalent of the suggested CPU or GPU, the developer has left this job up to the gamers.
Usually, studios specify particular hardware when listing the system requirements since each company’s products are unique in terms of architecture and characteristics. However, it seems The Day Before has cut corners in this area.

Judging from the requirements, we assume that a Radeon RX 580 and a Ryzen 5 2600 will suffice at the lower end. Users looking for the recommended experience should be fine with a Radeon RX 6600 XT and a Ryzen 5 3600.
As expected from a modern game, the developer recommends an SSD, though HDDs are also supported.
Despite the lack of requirements, AMD owners looking to try The Day Before should not be too worried. Once the game is released in early access, various hardware configurations will be tested on YouTube, allowing such users to make an informed decision.
Still, this does not make the fact that developer Fntastic has left the company’s products out of its requirements any less odd.
