Starfield is looking excellent so far. The latest Starfield Direct showed fans several minutes of gameplay, with the developers elaborating on the intricate mechanics of the game. While nearly everything looks remarkable, the game’s scope has also raised concerns about bugs and glitches.
However, Matt Booty from Xbox has assured fans that Starfield will be a polished release. According to Matt Booty, Starfield will have the least amount of bugs of any Bethesda game.
Why it matters: Bethesda games are infamous for their bugs. With Starfield being the developer’s most ambitious project, fans were concerned that this would lead to even more bugs for the latest release.
Phil Spencer and Matt Booty recently sat down for an interview with Giantbomb. During the interview, Matt Booty said:
“I see bug counts and I’ll say that if Starfield shipped today, this would have the fewest bugs of any game Bethesda has ever shipped with.”
This means that the game is currently in a very polished state. However, the developers still have a few more months left to polish. The game is coming on September 6, nearly three months from now.
Starfield has a whopping 1000 planets. The sheer number of planets, combined with detailed mechanics like customization for spaceships, means that Starfield is one of the most detailed games of all time.
Because of the game’s complexity, bugs cannot be completely avoided. However, Xbox and Bethesda Game Studios have likely ensured that players have a smooth experience at launch.
The anticipation behind the game is already at an all-time high, with Starfield becoming the best-selling title on Steam months before launch.
Following several positive pieces of information about the game, fans will be glad to know that Bethesda Game Studios and Microsoft are ensuring that bugs are kept at a minimum so that they do not hinder the gaming experience.
