Story Highlights

  • Last year, Ubisoft announced a 2024 release window for Star Wars Outlaws.
  • A Disney Blog reveals that the game will be released in late 2024.
  • Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment haven’t officially commented on this blog.

Disney has quietly revealed the release window for Star Wars Outlaws after previously keeping it a secret. Although there hasn’t been a proper announcement, a Disney Blog has revealed that the Star Wars game will be released in late 2024.

Why it matters: Ever since its announcement in 2023, fans have been eagerly anticipating a release date due to the incredible first gameplay showcase.

Star Wars Outlaws

Past rumors pointed at the title targeting a March 2024 launch, but there were reports of a Ubisoft game being delayed recently. This may have been Star Wars Outlaws since Ubisoft did not announce a more precise window for the game other than a 2024 release.

With Assassin’s Creed Red also expected to arrive in 2024, both of Ubisoft’s biggest AAA titles could be released quite close to each other. A similar pattern was observed this year, with Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora arriving a few months apart.

Star Wars Outlaws is marketed as the first game of the IP that takes the open-world approach. Coming from Massive Entertainment, this entry will close out a huge 2024 for Ubisoft.

Star Wars Outlaws

Apart from this Star Wars game, Ubisoft has titles like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Skull & Bones scheduled for a 2024 release. Therefore, fans can consistently enjoy a variety of different games from the publisher throughout the year.

Star Wars Outlaws promises to set players loose in the biggest gaming world based on the franchise yet. Players familiar with the source material will immediately recognize iconic locations, nods to other parts of the IP, and various characters throughout the game.

With the game now less than a full year away, expectations are high for an immersive adventure. From what we have seen so far, the game looks quite promising. Hopefully, it will break away from the typical open-world tropes and stand out as a worthy addition to Star Wars games.
