South Park: Snow Day! is the latest gaming adaptation based on the Southpark series. Following well-received games like South Park: The Stick of Truth, this title offers co-op gameplay for those looking to team up with their friends.

A recently released gameplay trailer shows this focus in action, highlighting the fun awaiting fans in South Park: Snow Day!

Why it matters: The South Park series has been around for nearly three decades, making it an important part of pop culture today. High-quality games in the past have also meant that a fanbase eagerly anticipates new games based on this IP.

The game uses a simple premise to thrust players into the role of the New Kid as South Park faces a massive blizzard.

South Park: Snow Day! includes a matchmaking service for those looking to try co-op with random teammates. However, despite the co-op focus, solo gameplay with bots is possible.

Unlike The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole, this entry moves away from the 2D gameplay format. Therefore, THQ Nordic is hoping to shake up the traditional formula of South Park games in more than a few ways.

In terms of gameplay, this trailer highlights melee combat and ranged weapons. Special abilities can also be used for intense attacks to defeat large waves and tough bosses.

The game boasts an impressive range of customization for unique versions of the New Kid based on the player’s preference. These elements come together to preserve the charm fans have come to expect from the South Park IP.

The gameplay trailer has been accompanied by system requirements. As expected from a stylized game, THQ Nordic asks for very modest hardware, recommending the GeForce GTX 960.

Processors like Intel’s 4th generation Core i3-4130 will also suffice, leading to a game that most PC gamers should be able to enjoy.
