Architectural Differences
- Process Size: Since the Ryzen 5 7600 and 7600X are based on the same Zen 4 Raphael architecture, they both share the same processing node as well. The process size is precisely 5nm based on a mere 71 mm² die size.
- Clock Speed: At the base clock, the 7600X runs at 4.7 GHz compared to the 3.8 GHz by the 7600. The 7600X comes ahead at boost clock as well, at around 5.3 GHz in comparison to the 5.1 GHz by the 7600.
- Cores And Threads: Both these entry-level CPUs come with a total of 6 cores and 12 threads on board.
- Memory Support: Both these CPUs support the next generation of faster DDR5 RAM at up to a whopping 5200 MHz.
- TDP: The 7600X was released with a TDP of 105 watts. Compared to that, the 7600 is supposed to be much more efficient, as its TDP has been cut down to a mere 65 watts.
Today, I will be comparing two entry-level CPUs AMD has released in their latest lineup for a very specific audience, i.e., gamers who are on a budget. The CPUs AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and Ryzen 5 7600X may appear to sound very similar on paper, but I will be taking a deeper look at the similarities and differences among them to help you decide which one is better suited for your rig.

Ryzen 5 7600X Vs Ryzen 5 7600: Which One Would I Recommend?
Ryzen 5 7600: I would be a bit more inclined towards the 7600. In my opinion, it is an easier recommendation out of the two. It is the better bang for the buck since it is 26% cheaper while only performing 2% worse. I noticed that it showed better thermals. It can also get by with a smaller power supply since it consumes less power, and you can invest that money elsewhere. Lastly, it comes with all the latest bells and whistles AMD has to offer with the 7600X. This includes support for the latest PCI-E Gen-5 and faster DDR5 memory.
Ryzen 5 7600X: On the contrary, if you don’t mind spending some extra bucks for better performance, a higher base, and boost clock speeds, then I recommend you consider the 7600X. It performed better than the 7600 in most of my games while maintaining faster clock speeds.
For as long as I can remember, AMD has always been known to provide some of the best budget segment products, which often prove to be the best value for the price they are sold at. The same is the case with both Ryzen 5 7600 and Ryzen 5 7600X. In my opinion, AMD has knocked it out of the park with these CPUs.
