PlayStation has been steadily releasing its library of first-party titles on the PC gaming platform. With games like God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man, users can already experience many of PlayStation’s best offerings on PC.
The last PC port was released a few months ago with The Last of Us Part 1, but it looks like another port is right around the corner. According to a reliable insider, a AAA PlayStation PC Port is coming in July.
Why it matters: PlayStation recently hosted a major showcase, and fans were hoping to get a glimpse of the next batch of games arriving on PC. However, this was not revealed, leading to doubt about more ports coming soon.
This information comes from The Snitch, who recently claimed on his Discord server that he knows about announcements not revealed during the PlayStation showcase. He further states that a PlayStation PC port is coming out in July.
He said yes when asked whether the upcoming port would be based on a AAA title. However, this was all the information provided by the insider, and he did not reveal the game itself.
Many have speculated that the upcoming game could be Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Recent hints from a job listing for Nixxes have led to this speculation, but other games are also likely for a PC port.
Recently, SIE CEO Jim Ryan said that PlayStation 5 exclusive titles would not be made available for PC at the launch, with a two-year gap between the PlayStation and PC release being accepted.
Following this strategy, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part 2, and Demon’s Souls Remake could be strong candidates for the supposed port.
Since the game is set to release in July, an announcement should be made very soon. As such, Geoff Keighley could announce the PC port at Summer Game Fest. The host has previously made announcements like the PC port for Returnal at The Game Awards 2022.
