Design

ORICO’s 5-Port Multi-Function Power Station is a sleek and practical device that simultaneously charges up to 5 devices. Measuring 125x100x55mm, it’s made of PC + ABS material with a fine finish and stylish design. The top features 5 slots with curved surfaces for device placement, and the station has a white and grey colour scheme. Each slot has raised tabs, ensuring secure placement, and the bottom has rubber mounts to prevent surface scratching. Operating at 50/60Hz with AC100-240V and 1.2A max, each port provides 5V/2.4A, totaling 5V/8A (40W max).

The station has a power port and an on/off button at the back. Pressing the button to power on the station may loosen its cap. The front has a blue LED that lights up when powered. It also has 5 USB ports with 9mm gaps between them. ORICO uses an Intelligent USB Chip for proper current delivery and battery protection. The station’s efficiency is improved with MPS synchronous rectification, reducing losses.

PRO TIP: Take advantage of the ORICO DUK-5P’s sleek design and comprehensive safety features for a streamlined and secure desktop charging experience.

This power station has active protection against:

  • Overpower
  • Overcurrent
  • Surge
  • Overvoltage
  • Short circuit
  • Overcharge
  • Overheat

If the temperature exceeds 100°, the power cuts off automatically, ensuring device safety. Users must replug to resume. Each port has current and overload protection. In a surge or short circuit, power is immediately cut off, restoring function once the issue is fixed. ORICO prioritizes user-friendly power stations.

Testing

I tested the power station at home using 4 Android phones. I charged each phone individually for 15 minutes, noting the maximum current and voltage. Then, I connected all phones to the power station simultaneously and observed the maximum current and voltage during 15 minutes of charging. If the station can power all devices properly, the levels should match the rated specifications.

The following smartphones were used:

  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy A5 2015
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3
  • Huawei 3C
Device Original Charger DUK-5P
Ampere Voltage Ampere Voltage
S7 Edge 1020 mA 4.201V 1040 mA 4.203V
A5 2015 1195 mA 4.297V 1192 mA 4.198V
Note 3 1200 mA 4.231V 1200 mA 4.158V
3C 1170 mA 4.202 1177 mA 4.311

We installed the Ampere app (version 3.11) on all phones to check if each port could charge devices properly without losing voltage.

WARNING: Ensure your USB cable length requirements are met, as the ORICO DUK-5P does not come with short USB cables; consider this before making a purchase.
