Nvidia is expected to confirm the GeForce RTX 40 Super series at CES 2024. With multiple trusted leakers pointing to this refresh, a new report has discussed the pricing of these graphics cards.
The current generation Nvidia RTX 40 series cards are the most expensive yet, offering a small performance uplift compared to the last generation, aside from the GeForce RTX 4090. However, not everyone can afford a $1600 graphics card.
This has led to a massive price and performance gap between the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4080, and RTX 4090. Nvidia is now looking to fill up this space by launching Super series cards, a strategy Nvidia last practiced two generations ago.
According to Moore’s Law is Dead, the GeForce RTX 4080 Super will directly target the Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
Being a Radeon RX 7900 XTX competitor, the GeForce RTX 4080 Super is expected to be priced at $999 while consuming much less power at 320W TDP and offering a 6-9% performance bump over its predecessor.
This price would make it 17% cheaper than its predecessor, making it the best option for those looking to target 4K gaming. Similarly, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, which has already been spotted online, is expected to be priced around $800 to $850, with a 14-22% performance bump over its predecessor.
While these prices might be a bit higher than some would like, the performance uplift should make the RTX 40 Super series much more desirable. The GeForce RTX 4080 Super could be the star of the show, providing an exceptional GPU for 4K gaming for $1000.
Looking at the pricing of the upcoming GeForce RTX 40 Super series, Nvidia seems to be going with an aggressive approach this time around. The company expects to release the refresh in late January or early February to capitalize on the market before the Chinese New Year.
