Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released less than three months ago, and it expanded upon the first game in the franchise in several ways. Respawn Entertainment introduced more combat variety, a bigger scale, and a more intriguing journey for Cal Kestis.

While the game received plenty of criticism for the PC port and poor optimization, the critical reception was extremely positive. According to EA, the latest Star Wars game has already reached millions of players.

Following this success, Respawn appears to have begun work on a new Star Wars Jedi game. We have spotted that the developer is hiring for various roles on the Star Wars Jedi team, including a Senior VFX Artist.

As seen above, the studio is recruiting developers for the Star Wars Jedi franchise.

This suggests Respawn Entertainment is working on a sequel to the recently released Star Wars title. The game has received no shortage of positive reviews, and EA has likely green-lit a sequel after the successful release.

Previously, Director Stig Asmussen said:

“I always wanted to see this as a trilogy.”

The Director had always intended to make a third game, but this likely depended on the success of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. With the recent release being a critical hit, a trilogy seems all but confirmed.

The job listing also confirms that Respawn Entertainment intends to utilize Unreal Engine 5 for the next Star Wars Jedi game.

Unreal Engine 5 has become the industry standard for new games. AAA developers like CD Projekt Red have shifted to the engine, and more are expected to follow. EA Motive is also switching to Unreal Engine 5 for the studio’s next project.

With new additions like Lumen and Naninte, Unreal Engine 5 holds a lot of potential for future games. This makes it the ideal choice for AAA developers across the gaming industry.

In addition to other jobs, Respawn Entertainment is hiring a Senior Combat Designer for the game.

This listing highlights elements like enemies and bosses. These elements are featured throughout the two previous Star Wars Jedi games and will likely return for Respawn Entertainment’s next title.

It also asks for a passion for melee combat games. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor expanded on Cal’s arsenal with brand-new combat stances and more melee animations. The developer is likely to introduce similar additions for a new game.

Previously, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sold more than 10 million units. In addition to the impressive sales, the game received various accolades and was nominated for several awards.

The latest release is expected to follow this success, and a third game could turn out to be Respawn’s best work in the Star Wars universe yet. Respawn is also expanding to other genres in the Star Wars universe, with the developer announcing a new Star Wars FPS last year.
