Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake was officially announced last week. Since Konami picked the third game to remake from the franchise, many have wondered whether the studio would work on remakes for the other games.
Though nothing is planned for now, it seems like the positive reactions and anticipation from fans have pleased Konami. Responding to a question, Konami stated that more remakes are possible, but this would depend on fan demand.
Why it Matters: Many of the Metal Gear Solid games are now very old, and the recent trend of remakes has led to demand for remakes of the franchise. This would also help to bring more players to the series.
During a recent interview with IGN Japan, Konami discussed the possibility of other games from the franchise being remade. The studio stated:
“We will continue to consider remakes of past titles in the series while listening to customer feedback.”
This is exciting news for the Metal Gear Solid fans. Konami did not look back at the franchise for over 5 years, but the company is finally taking fan feedback into consideration now.
The company also provided details about Hideo Kojima’s involvement in the game. Konami has confirmed that Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa are not part of the remake. While Kojima not being involved may be disappointing, it can also be good for the remake in one way.
Konami likely will not change much in the game since Hideo Kojima is no longer present on the team. The company has also confirmed that David Hayter from the old game is returning for the classic experience.
Previously, Konami hinted at additional Metal Gear Solid master collections. This led fans to believe that Metal Gear Solid 4 will eventually be remastered, but the latest interview means that it can be considered for a remake if the demand is enough for Konami.
