Rumors for the revival of Metal Gear Solid have been making the rounds for over a year. The rumors first started in 2022 when it was noted that Virtuos Games listed Konami as a client, hinting toward a possible remake.
With the buzz around the franchise, many hoped that Metal Gear Solid would return in 2023, but this might not be the case. Journalist Andy Robinson recently tweeted, stating that the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake has been pushed to 2024.
MGS3 remake is now a 2024 title and there's still talk of MGS re-releases of some kind. E3 window was their marketing plan, last I heard. https://t.co/Euaw3iEdrN

The next few months will bring announcements from various studios and developers. Giants like PlayStation are expected to hold a showcase around this time, while Xbox and Ubisoft have already confirmed their showcases for June.
As such, June seems like a safe bet for the much anticipated Metal Gear Solid Remake. Konami is also working to revive its classic franchises. Silent Hill 2 Remake was officially announced last year during the Silent Hill Transmission presentation in October, and many are hoping a similar announcement will be made for Metal Gear Solid.
Not too long ago, it was reported that Metal Gear Solid Remake might be PlayStation 5 exclusive, but this remains to be seen.
Metal Gear Solid is a beloved franchise, and a remake could bring new life to the franchise. Recent examples like Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 have also been received extremely well worldwide, so Konami could be looking to follow a similar approach with Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake.
