Ubisoft has developed some of the best game franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry Series, and Tom Clancy. In the Game Awards, the new Mario game released by Ubisoft won the award for best sim/strategy game, which might be the most significant success for Ubisoft this year.
This success doesn’t seem much, as Ubisoft is going through some rough times. Ubisoft has now canceled 3 three unannounced games. Moreover, Skull and Bones, one of the most anticipated games, has been delayed again. This game has already been delayed five times, so fans have lost hope in Ubisoft.
According to a well-known insider, Jeff Grubb, Ubisoft has been proposing acquisitions and mergers with different gaming companies just to get laughed at. The company has made some of the best titles, but the situation has been worsening since 2022, and the future of this company doesn’t seem reasonable anymore.
Ubisoft definitely already did the rounds proposing acquisitions and mergers with other similar companies, and it mostly got laughed at. It's just too unwieldy. Its strength was its distributed development structure, and now that is an albatross.

Grubb also claimed that Ubisoft has been looking for a merger for some time now, but all were in vain. He also claimed that Ubisoft is too unwieldy and doesn’t have its strength anymore, which was its distributed development structure.
Despite that, he claims the future of this famous publisher is grim either way. Ubisoft has more than 40 studios and subsidiaries worldwide, which might be one of the main reasons the merger isn’t happening.
Ubisoft confirmed several big games for the next fiscal year, which includes Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Fans have been waiting for the return of the Assassin’s Creed franchise for a long time now, but given the circumstances, it seems hopeless.
If the company doesn’t tough it through and get back on track, fans will miss out on some best games. We hope Ubisoft gets back on track and continue to make successful titles.
