Story Highlights
  • European ratings board PEGI has rated Hi-Fi Rush for Nintendo Switch.
  • Microsoft hasn’t officially announced the game for this platform.
  • The rating could hint at a launch for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

After Microosft’s critically acclaimed Hi-Fi Rush came to PS5, it seems that the Nintendo Switch port will be following soon. The game has finally been rated, hinting that it will soon join the other platform.

Why it matters: Microsoft is pushing to go multi-platform as it looks to solidify its place as a publisher. Hi-Fi Rush will be an excellent title to include in the mix, as the style fits perfectly for the handheld.

PEGI has rated Hi-Fi Rush for Switch and PS5

The rumor first surfaced when NateTheHate confirmed the port’s existence. Later, a leaker datamined the game to find a Nintendo Switch T-shirt amongst the files, hinting at the existence of a Switch version. Other sources corroborated the leak as well.

Today, PEGI rated the rhythm action game for both the Nintendo Switch and PS5. This is quite curious because the PS5 version is already out. However, the rating suggests another version officially exists.

A popular theory is that Hi-Fi Rush will launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 instead of the current hardware. Microsoft has already released titles like Grounded and Pentiment on the original Nintendo Switch.

Therefore, the gaming giant is either working on further optimizations for the Nintendo Switch or waiting on its successor to port Hi-Fi Rush.

Hi-Fi Rush could be announced for the Nintendo Switch soon

Microsoft has not confirmed whether it has a native version of Hi-Fi Rush for the Nintendo Switch. However, older reports indicate that the title was planned to be a multi-platform release before becoming an exclusive.

Tango Gameworks and Bethesda took a risk with Hi-Fi Rush, and it paid off. This rhythm action title has a lot of the DNA of popular Japanese action games, so the port is likely to find success on the Nintendo Switch.

However, it needs a solid frame rate to ensure the best possible experience. This may be the reason why a Nintendo Switch port has not been released yet.
