Graphics card prices have been crazy for the last 2 years thanks to the pandemic and the silicon shortage that followed it. With GPUs being sold way over their MSRPs, gamers were in a real state of panic. Only this year, things are now starting to look normal again.

According to recent surveys, the demand for Graphics cards is all-time low, and there has been a massive drop of about 30% in PC sales in Q1 of 2022. With the arrival of the upcoming GeForce RTX 40 and Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards from AMD and NVIDIA in early Q3 2020 with promised up to 35% improvement in performance thanks to the new process node. We might even see some graphics cards selling below their MSRP.

The Radeon RX 6900XT is being sold at a lesser price than its MSRP in China. According to an industry insider @Greymon55, in China, GPUs are currently being sold below their official prices:

Considering the official price of Radeon RX 6900XT is $999, it is being sold at $150 less than the original price. Greymon tweeted that even the Colorful GeForce RTX 3090 along with other brands is being sold below their MSRPs.

The above graph by the 3DCenter shows the trend the prices have followed this year. The graph shows that the retail prices have reached quite near MSRP. With AMD just being 2% higher and Nvidia being 6% due to inflated prices of certain GPUs. And as we know that in China, some GPUs are already being sold at quite a lesser amount than their actual prices.

With overall decreased demand due to the almost dead cryptocurrency mining market, shipments are on track without delay; graphics cards are being sold even below MSRP; all this leads us to believe that GeForce RTX 40 and Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards will indeed be sold at the MSRP at launch in the Early Q3 2022.

This is something to rejoice about for the gamers who haven’t been able to buy the latest GPUs, and things are finally heading the right way now. Are you excited about getting a new generation GPU at its MSRP? Let us know your thoughts!
