Now that the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is out in the blue, it’s time for Nvidia to offer more budget-friendly options to gamers like the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti.

Unlike its bigger brothers, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will be the first desktop variant based on Nvidia AD106 GPU. The new graphics card is also expected to feature 4352 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory instead of GDDR6X. This will also make the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti the only 400 series card not to offer faster GDDR6X memory.

Through a reliable source kopite7kimi the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will have a total rated board power of just 160W compared to the 220W TDP he previously predicted. With a significant decrease in board power, the RTX 4060 Ti will consume 40W less than its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, while performing marginally better.

Nvidia has also recently announced a mobile variant of the RTX 40-series, going as far as the GeForce RTX 4090. Furthermore, the mobile variant of the GeForce RTX 4070 will feature GN21-X6 GPU based on the same AD106 GPU. Nvidia probably already has a ready stock of desktop GeForce RTX 4060 Ti ready but might be waiting to get rid of existing RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti stocks before doing so.

According to current rumors, the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will feature almost half the memory bus of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. That will make the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti significantly slower in memory bandwidth at 288 GB/s compared to 448 GB/s on the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.

The upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 and 4060 Ti are expected to launch this year in either late Q1 or early Q2, offering users two options at lower price points, where most of the interests lie.

What are your thoughts on the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti? Would it be a game changer for budget-friendly builds?
