During a recent podcast with Xcast, Jeff Grubb, who’s been one of the most reliable insiders, talked about the Gears franchise. He stated that fans can finally expect to hear more on Gears 6 in the coming months.

This is the first major leak about Gears 6 that goes beyond the typical information about its internal development, making it more exciting.
Jeff Grubb has accurately leaked details on various games well ahead of their reveals in the past, so his words hold a lot of weight. What this means is that Gears 6 could very well show up at the Xbox Showcase this summer.
Like every year, Microsoft is returning with the event in 2024. Gears 6 is expected to be featured at the event, though it remains to be seen if The Coalition is prepared to showcase proper gameplay yet.
Leaks have suggested a release date of around 2026. If true, Gears 6 will be the game with the longest development cycle in the series, making it more exciting as a potential new direction for the franchise.
Nonetheless, it seems Gears 6 is much closer than anybody expected.
With Halo and Forza receiving at least one entry each in the current generation, Gears is next in line to make its debut. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the latest title should be another powerhouse for Microsoft.
