Design

The Drevo Falcon Gaming Mouse has a cool honeycomb design, featuring impressive RGB lighting controlled by software. It has 5 buttons, weighs 70g, and measures 126x63x39mm. The PALM grip is well-supported with a rounded design and a unique honeycomb shell.

The Drevo Falcon’s back slopes sharply. Close-up, the honeycomb design and white diffuser underneath are detailed. Four points on the shell lack cutouts, purpose unknown. The mouse favours palm grip, with a gentle front slope. A DPI switch behind the scroll wheel changes levels, with RGB lighting for visual feedback.

Here is the DPI and corresponding lighting data:

DPI Level Light Indicator (Blink)
400 Red
800 Green
1000 (Default) Blue
1200 Yellow
1600 Purple
2000 Orange
2400 Light Blue
3200 White

The DPI switch extends the honeycomb design. A white diffuser is under the shell, and the scroll wheel has a textured grip and a glowing translucent diffuser. The Drevo logo is on the left. Switch info isn’t available, but they’re rated for 20M clicks. Left and right buttons are easy to press with a nice click sound.

The USB cable comes from the centre, and there’s a non-lighting white diffuser below the buttons. The left side has two accessible macro buttons. The design is solid with minimal gaps, and a thumb rest is ergonomically placed. Honeycomb design is also on this side.

The right side of the mouse looks different from the left. The right side is flat and sticks out a bit, making it easy for the user to rest their pinky finger. The design has a cool honeycomb pattern at the back, adding to the overall look. The Drevo Falcon FM89 Gaming Mouse has a 180cm USB cable that supports USB 2.0, and it’s flexible like the EndGame G1 mouse cable. No Drevo branding on the USB connector.

PRO TIP: Personalize your gaming setup with Drevo Falcon FM89’s customizable RGB lighting and adjustable DPI settings.

The gaming mouse has three glider pads underneath for smooth movement— one large on top and two small at the bottom. It uses the PixArt PMW3398 sensor for accurate tracking. The eyelid in the centre holds the sensor in a narrow oval shape. The power rating and serial number are printed at the bottom, along with a clock-style sticker indicating the manufacturing month (04-2020). The mouse is made in China.

RGB Lighting

The RGB lighting show is on another level with this Drevo Falcon Gaming mouse. My daughter is more pleased with the lighting than the operation! She is using my PC for her online classes! Here are some of the predefined modes on this mouse:-

  • Static (Multi-Colors)
  • Breathing
  • Blink
  • Wave
  • Static
  • Aurora
  • Off

The Drevo Falcon Gaming mouse has awesome lighting with white diffusers and honeycomb shells on top. Some areas are a bit dim, but it doesn’t create a bad impression. You can change lighting modes using the DPC software or the F-labeled back button on the mouse.

Here are some pictures:

Software

Download Drevo Power Console from their website to easily control your mouse. It features a simple interface with a single window. In the centre, there’s a labelled mouse picture, and on the left, you’ll find label identification. Tabs on the right allow you to manage mouse operations. The default tab is the DPI setting, with colour-coded levels ranging from 100 to 3200. You can slide the button to increase DPI up to 16000. The Lighting tab offers various modes and colour options.

WARNING: Not suitable for users needing advanced calibration options or preferring a heavier gaming mouse.

In Static mode, choose colours and adjust brightness. Dynamic modes allow speed control. Mouse Parameters manage sensitivity, scroll speed, and double-click speed. Polling rate adjustment is available. Save and import configurations, and use Macro Editor to define and assign macros to keys.

Should You Buy It?

By rigorously testing Drevo Falcon Gaming Mouse, I have determined that:

Buy It If

✅ You want a lightweight gaming mouse: If you are a gamer who values the advantages of a lightweight mouse for faster and more precise movements in first-person shooter games.

✅ You appreciate customizable RGB: If you enjoy personalizing your gaming setup with RGB lighting and prefer the stylish honeycomb design for a modern and distinctive look.

Don’t Buy It If

❌ You require a mouse with calibration options: If you need advanced calibration features to optimize your mouse for specific surfaces, this might not be the ideal choice for you.

Final Words

The Drevo Falcon Gaming Mouse is a lightweight honeycomb design optimized for FPS gaming. It uses a PixArt PMW3389 sensor with a max DPI of 3200 (extendable with DPC software), 20M clicks, and 50g acceleration. The scroll wheel has a textured grip, and buttons are easy to press. It works well on a table but may need higher DPI on certain surfaces. Suitable for palm or claw grip, I enjoyed gaming at 5400 DPI in titles like Battlefield V and Witcher 3. With a year’s warranty, it’s a good daily driver.

I am thankful to Drevo for allowing me to review their Falcon FM89 Gaming Mouse.
