Diablo 4 has been one of the most successful games of the year. The latest Diablo title is performing well and has also become Blizzard’s fastest-selling game.
Blizzard recently revealed that Diablo 4 reached yet another milestone as the game has made more than $666 million in less than a week, and more than 276 million total hours of the game have been played since early access.
Why it matters: Diablo is one of Blizzard’s most well-known IPs, and each new entry of the series is eagerly anticipated. Fans had high expectations from Diablo 4, and Blizzard hit the bullseye with this release.
With over 276 million hours spent in #DiabloIV already, it’s been one Hell of a launch.

Blizzard also shared more numbers from the game, and they continue to impress. Over 276 billion monsters have been killed in the game, and the player base has died more than 317 million times.
Diablo 4 already showed a glimpse of its success during the beta. Previously, the game shattered the franchise record for the most played beta, achieving over 62 million total hours played.
Diablo 4 faced a few connection problems at launch. The game was also criticized for overpriced microtransactions, but this does not appear to have affected the success of the title.
Blizzard is planning to support Diablo 4 for several years, offering paid cosmetics and expansion packs in the future. Two story expansions are currently in development and should keep players engaged for many months.
