  • CDPR’s latest update confirms work on Cyberpunk 2077 has been fully concluded.
  • All developers from this project have been moved to The Witcher 4 or Project Orion.
  • CDPR also pointed to strong sales for Phantom Liberty in its latest earnings report.

Cyberpunk 2077 had an incredible run full of twists and turns during its development. Debuting as a shell of everything CDPR promised and then coming back to redeem itself, the game has had a major redemption journey over the years.

However, CDPR finally seems to have put the game to rest. According to its latest financial report, no developer is working on this game anymore.

Why it matters: Many fans hoped to see the RPG patched for upcoming hardware like the PS5 Pro, but this seems unlikely now that the studio has moved on.

CDPR Developer Breakdown For Various Projects

CDPR’s latest quarterly earnings report outlines the number of developers working on various projects at the studio. Between February and April, the studio grew from 627 to 630 developers.

However, the report also confirms that the number of staff on Cyberpunk 2077 has gone down from 17 to 0. This means that the team’s latest RPG is unlikely to receive any further updates.

Everybody involved in this RPG’s iconic journey has been moved on to projects like The Witcher 4 or the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. This update comes right after the game hit 95% positive Steam reviews, marking a satisfying end to its journey.

Moving forward, The Witcher 4 is set to take up most of CDPR’s attention. The team for this project has grown by a few developers, while the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel seems to have gained about 9 developers.

CDPR also confirmed that quarterly revenue increased by 30% thanks to continued sales of Phantom Liberty, the developer’s incredibly well-received expansion from last year.
