Both AMD and Nvidia are preparing to launch their next-generation graphics cards expected to show up later this year. We have heard several rumors about the new GPUs, and the leaks are predicting huge upgrades over the last generation. While we don’t have much information on this from AMD or Nvidia, it seems like the date for the upcoming announcement has been leaked.

Reliable leaker, Greymon55 has tweeted out what could turn out to be the first announcement window for the upcoming products.

As the tweet says, the products will be concentrated in the month of September. This would mean that both AMD and Nvidia will reveal their flagship GPUs sometime in September. Furthermore, Greymon has also revealed the release order of the products.

The above tweet shows that AMD will release graphics cards based on the Navi 33, followed by the Navi 32 and Navi 31. Interestingly, AMD seems to be releasing a mid-range GPU with the flagships in the initial release window. Last year, AMD’s initial lineup included the Rx 6900, 6800 XT, and the 6800 based on the Navi 21 die. The Navi 23 die was featured in the RX 6600XT and the RX 6600. Going by RDNA 2, AMD Radeon RX 7900XT, Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7800 would be based on Navi 31 manufactured on 5nm and 6nm process nodes, Radeon RX 7700 XT on Navi 32 and Radeon RX 7600 XT on Navi 33.

The following table shows alleged specs for AMD’s upcoming RDNA 3 line-up.

Greymon has predicted a similar release order to Ampere’s line-up on Nvidia’s side;

This means that the RTX 4090, 4080 and RTX 4070 should make up Nvidia’s launch line-up. We have already covered leaked RTX 4070 specifications and it seems like the rest of Nvidia’s catalog will be just as impressive. The table below shows rumored specifications for Nvidia’s next-gen GPUs.

Alleged Specifications of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 Series:

Ada Lovelace GPU SMs CUDA Cores Top SKU Memory Bus Ampere GPU SMs CUDA Cores Top SKU Memory Bus SM Increase (% Over Ampere)
AD102 144 18432 RTX 4090? 384-bit GA102 84 10752 RTX 3090 Ti 384-bit +71%

AD107 24 3072 RTX 4050? 128-bit GA107 20 2560 RTX 3050 128-bit +20%

Moreover, rumors point to both competitors being evenly matched in performance this time. We have already seen massive performance gains with the last generation of GPUs, and it seems like that was just the beginning. We are certainly looking forward to what comes next and will keep you updated as more news comes out.
