The Activision Blizzard merger is now closer than ever to being finalized, as Microsoft has plans for an announcement in a few days. Recently, Call of Duty games were also spotted with a hint at their arrival on Xbox Game Pass.
Therefore, fans were expecting the publisher’s entire catalog for the subscription service. However, the company has just confirmed Diablo 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will not arrive on the service before 2024.
Following the announcement, a well-known insider suggests that other Activision games will be immediately added to Xbox Game Pass once the deal gets approved.
Why it matters: The publisher has a vast catalog of games. Even without the latest releases, Microsoft’s subscription service would have much to gain from such additions.
Our sources indicate (surprising nobody) that despite Activision's statement, you can expect to see a bunch of Activision stuff hit Xbox Game Pass as soon as the deal is finalized.

Soon after Activision’s latest announcement about the deal and its progress, Jez Corden took to Twitter.
He pointed out that despite Activision’s statement, many games from the publisher’s library would soon join Xbox Game Pass. Since the deal is expected to be cleared this week, the games may arrive in just a few days.
While he didn’t point out which games would be available, we can make a few educated guesses since Activision’s catalog has been celebrated for multiple decades in the gaming industry.
Games from the Crash and Spyro franchises are likely to join the service, while others, like Prototype, could also be candidates for the subscription. Additionally, Xbox already has access to many older Call of Duty games through backward compatibility.
Therefore, these games may join Xbox Game Pass till Activision and Microsoft work to bring the latest offerings of the series. Not too long ago, games like Black Ops 2 already saw a massive resurgence, hinting at their relevance today.
Nonetheless, fans won’t have to wait long to find out since Microsoft’s announcement is expected to arrive before the weekend.
A previous report claimed the complete Call of Duty franchise would not be available on Xbox Game Pass till 2025, but other titles from the publisher should keep fans engaged till then.
With just three days left for the anticipated announcement from Microsoft, we hope to see many exciting additions to Xbox Game Pass soon. These additions will help both gaming giants, revitalizing older games and bringing more subscribers to the Xbox ecosystem.
