God of War Ragnarok is one of the most anticipated games of this year. The expectations from the game are high concerning the standards set by its predecessor God of War 2018.

The sequel will conclude the adventures of Kartos in Norse mythology, and the players will experience his journey while he embarks on his final quest. God of War Ragnarok’s official release is just around the corner, but various media outlets have published previews of the game.

Gene Park, a journalist from Washington Post, wrote a preview of God of War Ragnarok and revealed many interesting surface-level details about the game. As reported by the journalist, the game is not fully utilizing the full potential of the latest technology of PlayStation 5. The main reason for these claims is the hidden loading times of the game that were also seen in its predecessor.

The latest M.2 SSDs have enabled devs to provide a seamless gaming experience for the fans with the least or no loading screens. The upcoming true next-gen games like Dead Space Remake and Silent Hill2 Remake will opt for the seamless gaming experience reported by the respective studios.

While God of War Ragnarok looks beautiful and performs well on the last-gen PlayStation 4, it is also holding it back from outperforming its predecessor in terms of faster loading times and higher frame rates while keeping the resolution of the game intact.

It was also revealed recently that God of War Ragnarok would feature 4 graphics mods, including 120FPS mode. The game’s length was also reported recently to be 40 hours, including 20 hours of the main story and 20 hours of side quests.

Undoubtedly, the game seems to be up a notch in every aspect compared to its predecessor, whether it’s about the beautiful visuals or the lengthy gameplay the sequel will offer its fans. With the increase in the gameplay length and graphics improvements, the game’s final size is also reported to be a whopping 118 GB on PlayStation4.

Luckily fans will have a week to pre-load the game before its official launch to experience it immediately. God of War Ragnarok is just a few weeks away, and fans’ excitement is sky-high. God of War will be released on 9th November 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Recently, it has become a hot debate that consoles are holding back next-gen games. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comment section below.
