Microsoft has revealed how much money they make from the Game Pass on consoles to Brazilian regulators. The reason for disclosing this information is to build a favorable case for the upcoming Acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Regulators such as Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) have already approved Microsoft’s merging with Activision Blizzard. They issued approval for Microsoft’s $68.7 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard, which makes Brazil the second worldwide regular to support the deal.
As reported by Tweaktown, Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense released a document publicly outlining the approval process and included data on platforms such as Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo.
The document revealed that the total Xbox earnings for the year represent 18% of the $2.9 billion revenue made by Game Pass subscriptions in 2021.
The above chart shows that Xbox Game Pass made almost 18% of the total Xbox’s yearly revenues of $16.28 billion and 30% of its games and services revenues of $12.51 billion.
Monthly plans of Game Pass cost only $10 and $15, which is worth it as you’ll have access to so many games and even first-party studio games on Day One. Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes discounts and a reward system, and you can get early access to the beta version of EA Play and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Presently, Xbox Game Pass has over $25 million subscribers. So, if this continues, it is safe to assume that Microsoft will generate $4 billion on Game Pass in 2022.
