AMD’s new processors based on Zen 4 architecture have been anticipated for a long time. While AMD might not launch the products until September, the official announcement of AMD about being present at the Gamescom 2022 hints at an imminent Ryzen 7000 announcement.

AMD’s official Twitter account in a Tweet has confirmed that it will attend Gamescom 2022. While it’s not AMD’s way to introduce new products at a gaming-oriented event, their direct competitor Nvidia also launched the Geforce RTX 2000 series at Gamescom.

It should be noted that AMD is expected to unveil the Ryzen 7000 series on August 29, the day following the conclusion of Gamescom.

Also, this year’s Gamescom, unlike the other events, will be an in-person event. AMD, however, hasn’t had an official announcement about their plans for the event, but it is expected that the event will lead to the announcement of the Ryzen 7000 series.

AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Specifications

In the new AMD Ryzen 7000, we will see a new process node, TSMC’s 5nm technology. Also, according to rumors, all Zen 4 processors will feature a base clock speed of 5+ GHz single core. Even the maximum TDP of the chips is expected to reach a whopping 170 Watts.

Furthermore, rumors state that Ryzen 7000 series processors will have 20%+ IPC upliftment. If this is true, then Intel 13th gen Raptor Lake won’t be much of a challenge for AMD. The Ryzen 7000 series will feature Ryzen 5 7600X, Ryzen 7 7700X, Ryzen 7 7800X, Ryzen 9 7900X, and Ryzen 9 7950X.

Here is a list of all the processors with their specifications and expected prices:

Model Cores / Threads Freq. Max Cache TDP Price
Ryzen 9 7950X 16/32 5.50GHz 80MB (64+16) 105-170W $699
Ryzen 9 7900X 12/24 5.40GHz 76MB (64+12) 105-170W $599
Ryzen 7 7800X 8/16 5.30GHz 40MB (32+8) 65-125W $399
Ryzen 7 7700X 8/16 5.30GHz 40MB (32+8) 65-125W $299
Ryzen 5 7600X 6/12 5.20GHz 38MB (32+6) 65-125W $199

As things stand, the performance seems quite promising, which has excited us. Do you guys think AMD Zen 4 will beat Intel’s 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs in single-core performance this time? Let us know in the comments.
