Intel 13th Raptor Lake seems to be a beast when it comes to Overclocking. Today, we come across Overclocking results of the Intel Core i7-13700K, this time in the form of a Qualification Sample (QS) with an impressive speed of 6.20 GHz.
Even more impressive is that @QXE87 shared results are with 8 E-Core cores enabled with overclocking with no Liquid Nitrogen involved.
This Overclocking test was performed on ASUS Z690 ROG STRIX-A motherboard paired with DDR4 memory. Specifically, the 8 High-performance cores (P-Core) reached a frequency of 6184.9 MHz, while the 8 Efficient cores (E-Core) maintained the factory Turbo frequency of 4189.8 MHz.
For reference, out of the box, all P-Cores of the Intel Core i7-13700K reach a Turbo frequency of 5.30 GHz, so we’re talking about a boost of 900 MHz per core.
This translated into a CPU-Z performance record for a processor cooled without liquid nitrogen, as we speak of a single core score of 1009.9 points. Multi-core performance performs like an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (11877 points) despite having a cluster of 8 E-Core cores versus 16 AMD Zen3 cores.
Of course, as usual, we do not know any specific details of power consumption or temperatures, but the processor was overclocked on a custom water cooling system. For the rest, it is indicated that Raptor Lake can go up with good temperatures using a voltage of 1.3v. In this specific case, we are talking about voltages around 1.5v, so consider at least a liquid of 280 mm.
Intel 13th generation Raptor Lake processors and Z790 motherboards are expected to arrive on 17th October 2022.
