GeForce Now is Nvidia’s cloud gaming service; this service allows users to access over 800 games that can be streamed directly to PCs, Android, iOS devices, and Nvidia Shield TV. GeForce Now is part of the industry’s push toward cloud gaming, and more and more games are being added to the platform.

The PlayStation exclusive, God of War, was recently added to GeForce Now’s library of games. The game got a PC release only a few months ago and has made its way to Nvidia’s streaming platform. Steam users can simply sync their libraries with GeForce Now to access many of their games on Nvidia’s platform. However, GeForce Now can also be accessed on Xbox consoles because Nvidia’s streaming service is fully functional on the Microsoft Edge browser.

One might wonder if this could lead to God of War being playable on Xbox. It seems like Reddit user u/hector_evil2 may have just found out. According to a report, God of War on Xbox consoles is blocked and cannot be run via GeForce Now.

As the image shows, God of War does not show up when running GeForce Now on Xbox. This is not surprising since God of War is PlayStation’s biggest first-party title, and it makes sense for them to keep the game exclusive to PlayStation on consoles.

We have seen similar measures being taken for other PlayStation exclusives in the past. Death Stranding’s PC release was also blocked on Xbox. This will be a trend with Sony exclusives on PC moving forward, and we should not expect this to change anytime soon.

Despite all this, at this point, GeForce Now still has a lot to offer, considering Nvidia’s service, along with many others is paving the way forward for cloud gaming. GeForce Now also hinted at upcoming PS4 exclusives on the PC platform. If the leak is believed, those games could also be making their way to GeForce Now in the coming years. With over 14 million subscribers, the service is going strong, and it will only get better as we enter the era of cloud gaming.
