Cooling Performance: The ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240mm AIO utilizes 2x 120mm fans running at a maximum speed of 1,800RPM, which is the bulk of the cooler’s cooling potential. During my gaming tests, the Ryzen 9 5950X CPU achieved an average of 58°C in all games at 1440p and 4K resolution, providing impressive overclocking headroom.

PRO TIP: You can install the 240mm AIO radiator at the front, top, bottom, or back of the chassis depending on the PC case’s size and your preferred airflow.

I was in awe of the cooler’s performance during my testing. Here’s what I stated in my review:

“The AIO’s cooling capabilities are outstanding, especially when compared to similar AIO coolers in its pricing range.”

Build Quality: The AIO cooler has a refined build quality, showcasing an aluminum radiator and a copper baseplate for better heat dissipation. Moreover, thanks to the rubber bumps around the fans, the cooler has an extremely low noise level of ~10.64dB(A), making it inaudible even without a side panel.

Aesthetics: The ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240mm AIO has outstanding aesthetics and a spaceship-like pump design. Additionally, the darker color blends well in most PC designs, and the mix of RGB enhances the cooler’s beauty even more. In my opinion, this cooler is a must for those who want an exotic PC design.

Noctua NH-L9a AM4

Best Low Profile CPU Cooler For Ryzen 9 5950X

Best Low Profile CPU Cooler For Ryzen 9 5950X - Noctua NH-L9a AM4
Noctua NH-L9a AM4.

Specifications: Type: Low Profile Air Cooler | RGB: No | Dimensions: 114 x 92 x 37mm | Fan: 1x Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM 92mm | Fan Speed: 600 — 2,500RPM | Noise: 23.6dB(A) | Socket Support: AMD: AM4

Pros

  • Small form factor
  • Exceptionally quiet
  • Good value
  • Impressive build quality

Cons

Cooling Performance: The Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 CPU cooler provides just enough cooling to avoid thermal throttling the Ryzen 9 5950X CPU at 4K resolution. With its 1x 92mm fan running at 2,500RPM speed, there’s not much else to expect. However, at least it didn’t bottleneck the CPU, either.

Challenging the cooler’s height and performance, Sajjad Hussain states in his review:

“Don’t even think for a second that cooler of this much small footprint would not be adequate for the cooling requirements as this cooler has performed well from noise-to-performance ratio.”

Build Quality: Outside of its performance, the CPU cooler has a decent build quality with a nickel-plated copper baseplate and two heat pipes connected directly to it. We also loved the CPU cooler’s low-profile 37mm height, giving it 100% RAM and PC case compatibility.

Aesthetics: There’s little to see regarding the Noctua NH-L9a’s aesthetics. Because of its low-profile build, the CPU doesn’t have any cool aesthetics or RGB to boast. However, you can get the Chromax.Black version for a fully-black design to suit your PC build. Other than that, the cooler doesn’t offer any modularity.

Buy It If
