Respawn Entertainment is best known for its excellent work on the sci-fi franchise Titanfall. While this series has yet to receive a new game since 2016, fans have continued to hold out hope for a revival.
Following a departure from this franchise, the studio is hiring developers to work on multiplayer elements for a new project.
Why it matters: Following its release, there has been nothing quite like Titanfall, so the series certainly deserves more attention.
As reported by Exputer, an incubation team at Respawn Entertainment is leading work on a separate project. This is one of the studio’s two major projects after EA cancelled the Star Wars Mandalorian.
According to the job listing, the developer seeks someone with experience designing multiplayer FPS gameplay. This is unsurprising for a developer known for its work on multiplayer releases, but past reports add an exciting twist to the story.
According to famous leaker Jeff Grubb, the team’s next project is set in the Titanfall universe. Jeff Grubb has called it “a Titanfall game,” though it may not be the third entry that everyone wants.
Even more interesting is the fact that this project is led by Steve Fukuda, the director behind Titanfall. Putting two and two together, it might not be far-fetched to conclude that Respawn Entertainment is creating an indirect sequel to its most beloved franchise.
Respawn Entertainment has yet to announce this project. Considering the game is still in very early stages, fans should not expect to hear about it in any official capacity anytime soon. However, the job listing has led to palpable excitement within the fandom.
