- EA has brought together multiple AAA teams for the next Battlefield game.
- The publisher states that this game is being led by the biggest Battlefield team to date.
- EA’s CEO recently played the game and had nothing but positive words to share.
EA is currently working on a new Battlefield game after moving on from its latest entry. However, the new project seems to be more ambitious than anything this studio has done in the past, combining talents from various AAA teams.
Providing a small update on the project, EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed ambitions for a major live-service outing in this entry. He dubbed it a tremendous live service game.
Why it matters: This is a bold claim since EA’s live service ambitions have not been the most successful in the last few years.
According to the CEO, this project is coming along nicely. During a recent earnings call, he explained that Battlefield’s biggest team is supporting its development, including the likes of EA Motive, DICE, Criterion, and more.
The CEO recalled his recent preview and hands-on time with the game, expressing excitement at the potential of this collaborative effort. He then confirmed the role of live service in these ambitions.
It is going to be another tremendous live service.

Unfortunately, the CEO did not have much else to share. Over the last few months, EA has offered a small glimpse into Battlefield’s future through such teases. Perhaps the team has planned an official reveal for June.
With Summer Game Fest one month away, EA may finally be ready to pull the curtain.
This direction is not surprising considering EA is moving ahead with the belief that players want more live-service games. However, it remains to be seen if the third time will be the charm for Battlefield since the last two efforts have failed right off the bat.
Other details revealed in the recent earnings report confirm that EA made $1.77 billion last quarter. The publisher’s stock has taken a small hit after this reveal, but it continues to move forward with live service plans.
In addition to Battlefield, a similar approach will be taken for IPs that fall under EA Sports.
