In terms of its technical specifications, it has a fluid-dynamic bearing, a 120 mm fan, and an overall dimensions of 150 x 160 x 86 mm. In addition, it is anticipated to last for over 100,000 hours. Its Cybernetics Platinum and 80 Plus Platinum certifications stand out the most. Furthermore, it has the 12VHPWR connector and is ATX 3.0 certified, so we won’t have to worry about upgrading this component of our build soon.

It also has up to 5 PCI-E (6+2) Pin, which can handle the newest graphics generation with up to 600W of power. At first glance, the DeepCool PX1000P has a minimalist design, but a closer look unveils several intriguing details. A square metal silver grille dissipates heat and air. It contrasts with the otherwise black aluminum body, in addition to the power button and sides that feature the manufacturer’s logo paired with the color associated with the brand.

Not only are the colors in sync, but the screws do the same. Thanks to the modular design, the connection area is also clearly defined, and the 12VHPWR connector stands out with its corresponding company color. Although it seems subtle, this design is highly meticulous. The design incorporates DeepCool’s signature style while staying true to the brand’s longstanding heritage.

Cable Connections

Now, let’s take a look at the modular bay. As is customary, the connections and the outside finish of the wire are of the highest quality, with a comb-type design. There will be fewer clumsy mishaps thanks to the 12VHPWR connection’s visually appealing and distinctively colored connection, which makes it simple to see whether the user has plugged the cable into these ports correctly.

WARNING: For optimal performance, avoid using any older PCIe power connectors, and instead, connect your graphics card directly to the PCIe 5.0 port on your power supply.

Fan

It contains a 6-pole motor and a 120mm FDB fan for ventilation, decreasing energy consumption and extending its lifespan. In addition, we can either leave the hybrid mode on or turn it off entirely, turning the fan into a semi-fanless design. This way, we can control when the fan turns on, dispersing heat before it damages the source or the equipment.

To include Hybrid Fan mode into the PX1000P, DeepCool has asked for a bit of design modification, setting it apart from other PSUs that use the same CWT platform. Keeping the fan noise to a minimum was a top priority for DeepCool. Nowadays, almost all high-end PSUs use a fluid dynamic bearing from Hong Hua, which is considered an industry standard.

It could be wise to have the fan running constantly in the summer to avoid stressing our PSU with the heat, so this is a surprising innovation. Nobody can tell when the fan operates in hybrid mode due to its very low noise level.

PRO TIP: Disable the hybrid fan mode if you reside in an exceptionally humid and hot area. The reason is that your computer’s components will last longer with a cooler PSU.

Teardown & Component Analysis

CTT Platform (Image By Tech4Gamers)
CTT Platform (Image By Tech4Gamers)

Similar to DeepCool’s other PSUs and the one we recently reviewed, the PX1000G. The OEM of this PSU is CWT, but unlike any of their previous PSUs, PX1000P uses the most capable & efficient ATX3.0 platform from CWT called CTT. This platform is based on Interleaved PFC, Full-Bridge & LLC converter topology on the primary side and Synchronous Rectification and DC-DC converters on the secondary side. Notably, improved regulation, reduced noise, and more stable operation are all because of this.

CWT’s CTT is a Semi-digital platform that utilizes two digital controllers: one for controlling the Interleaved PFC section, which reduces noise and increases efficiency even when delivering maximum output power, and the other digital controller for 12V rail conversion. This Semi-digital controlling approach of CWT makes this one of the best ATX3.0 platforms and leaves very little room for improvement.

However, our desire to see and test a fully digital modern platform remains unfulfilled. We can assure you that you guys will be seeing the same platform from many different brands in the future and in our reviews. The main 12V secondary transformer is linked directly with the vertical daughter board for 12V MOSFETS to decrease losses, improve efficiency, and lower the temperatures.

DC-DC converter for minor 5V & 3.3V rails and NTC for inrush current protection with its bypass relay for improved efficiency.

PX1000P uses 100% Japanese Electrolytic & Polymer capacitors from Rubycon, Nippon-Chemicon & Nichicon. This, coupled with Hong Hua’s fluid dynamic bearing fan, can easily last this PSU to its 10 years of warranty duration, and we can see that we are protected from almost every electrical and thermal issue.

How Did We Test the DeepCool PX1000P?

Rather than solely relying on standard tests, I prefer to push power supply units to their limits in real-world scenarios. To ensure accurate results, I have even built our own testing equipment. My primary objective is to comprehend precisely what gamers require from their power supplies. I test aspects such as voltage regulation, voltage ripple efficiency, and temperature and noise control.

PSU Load Testing

12V & Minor Voltage Rails Regulation

Load in %            12V        5V          3.3V
20%       12.07V 5.06V 3.30V
50%       12.03V 5.05V 3.30V
70%       12.01V 5.05V 3.30V
90%       11.99V 5.05V 3.29V
100%    11.99V 5.05V 3.29V

Voltage regulation is exceptionally good. That’s all due to the use of digital controllers. We expect more manufacturers to utilize the same design in their PSUs, especially since we have a rigorous burden on 12V rail these days due to ATX3.0 specifications and immense power excursions.

PSU Efficiency

Load in %            Power Factor    Efficiency
20%       0.907 92.08%
50%       0.959 94.09%
70%       0.967 94.06%
90%       0.982 93.50%
100%    0.987 93.02%

Interleaved PFC and Digital Controllers really helped in improving PX1000P’s efficiency, making it very easy for this PSU to achieve Platinum efficiency. This will result in a better fan curve and silent operation when Hybrid Fan mode is turned on.

New Standard For Top-Tier Efficiency

Voltage Ripple Performance

Load in % Voltage Ripple
20% 8mV
50% 10.4mV
70% 12mV
90% 12.8mV
100% 13.6mV

Ripple performance is really impressive & you will have very stable performance even in achieving extreme overclocking but we were expecting to see even better results due to the fact that DeepCool’s PX1000G that we recently reviewed had similar performance. We believe there’s a slight room for improvement in the CTT platform from CWT.

Temperatures

During testing, the DeepCool PX1000P’s temperatures remained well under the specified limits, which is a testament to the platform’s efficiency. The fact that the PSU’s operations maintained an exceptionally low temperature during testing is evidence of its high-quality design and manufacture.

All things considered, the PSU did an outstanding job, and neither its temperature nor its performance were problematic in the least. The maximum temperature on the back was found to be 39.3C, and 44.3C on the exhaust. At the same time, the maximum hottest temperature on the connector’s side was 41.6C.

12VHPWR Cable Performance On Max Load

12VHPWR cable sustained the load of 600W without breaking a sweat at the voltage level of 11.88V.

Should You Buy It?

Buy It If

✅You want more efficiency: You want one of the best efficient PSUs with absolutely tight voltage regulation and voltage ripple performance.

Don’t Buy It If

❌You want to save some money: If you’re not really concerned with the extra 2% efficiency figures, then we will recommend you opt for PX1000G instead, which gives you similar performance & features by spending less.

Final Verdict

Unlike other manufacturers, DeepCool puts a lot of effort and thought into everything it manufactures and has specific priorities in mind. These DeepCool PX1000P and PX1300P PSUs are among the finest in the market in terms of dependability, quality, brand commitment, and energy efficiency. And with hardly any fan noise at all.

Plus, its warranty lasts for 10 years. So, before the warranty runs out, there is plenty of time to become tired of our power supply. Despite all of this, and considering that it was launched at the end of 2023 and that ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 are on the horizon, it still has a way to go before becoming the new standard.
