A credible journalist, Shannon Liao, has revealed that an internal town hall was held on Tuesday. In the meeting, Phill Spencer assured the team that Xbox will continue with the strategy of releasing multiple devices.

This is reassuring since the Xbox team has yet to address current rumors. The silence from Phil Spencer and other executives was interpreted as an alarming sign by many, with claims that Microsoft would eventually confirm the rumors.

Still, it remains to be seen when the official announcement will be made. We certainly hope Phil Spencer’s words come to fruition since Xbox’s exit could be the worst possible outcome for the gaming industry.

Meanwhile, other reports also claim Xbox is working on two consoles for 2026, including a new handheld. Overall, there is still a lot we don’t know yet about Microsoft’s future strategy.

Xbox’s hardware has always offered a unique approach. Whether it be the all-in-one focus of the Xbox One or the unique budget approach of the Xbox Series S, Microsoft’s hardware department serves as a valuable part of the industry.

Therefore, Phil Spencer’s supposed reassurance to the team is encouraging. The final decision will be announced at some point next week, so we hope to see a positive message from Microsoft.
