Pitched as its biggest blockbuster, the game is expected to finally arrive this year. Providing further evidence of a 2024 release, Ubisoft has already begun recording trailers and gameplay for promotional footage.

According to the latest findings from keen-eyed users on Twitter, the LinkedIn profile of Philippe Bellemare-Fraser states that recording for Assassin’s Creed Red trailers already began as early as September 2023.
The developer’s LinkedIn profile confirms that he recorded video capture for:
“Promotional gameplay videos, trailers, walkthroughs, B-Roll, etc.”
Ubisoft has been engaged in marketing preparations for around five months. Therefore, an official reveal, whether through a full gameplay video or a story trailer, could be much closer than anticipated.
While a previous LinkedIn post from Ubisoft already pointed to a 2024 launch, this information provides further evidence for this year’s release. Recently, Ubisoft has been known to pursue much shorter marketing cycles.
Games like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Assassin’s Creed Mirage highlight this shift, with full marketing kicking off only a few months before release. Therefore, fans can expect the typical Q4 launch for the Japanese Assassin’s Creed, likely around October or November.
According to other reports, Assassin’s Creed Red is among Ubisoft’s biggest investments. Similarly, Ubisoft is expected to go all out for marketing, allocating a considerable budget for promotion and advertisement.
Assassin’s Creed Red reintroduces two playable characters to the series after Mirage went for a more traditional experience. Yasuke serves as the male samurai, accompanied by a female shinobi in Ubisoft’s return to the RPG formula.
The game is also expected to ship with a bigger map than Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, showcasing the gaming giant’s most ambitious take on the RPG formula.
