Spider-Man 2 has cemented itself as the biggest PS5 exclusive in the console’s three-year lifespan. Selling 2.5 million units in a single day, this release has set a new benchmark for PlayStation games moving forward.
Following this success, a PC port for Spider-Man 2 is expected in late 2024 or early 2025. However, ahead of the official release, an early PC build has been leaked online, seemingly triggering modders to work on a full port.
Why it matters: The existence of this build could motivate PlayStation to accelerate the development of the official PC port.

According to videos shared on Twitter/X, Spider-Man 2 is already playable on PC in 60FPS. While the game is missing textures and shows a build far from completion, crucial aspects like the animations and gameplay elements are intact.
Mechanics like gliding with the web wings are also usable. Another video shows the Sandman boss fight in action, confirming that the PC build includes dialogue lines for both characters.
With so much progress having been made already, it would not be shocking to see Spider-Man 2 being playable on the platform in its entirety eventually. At the same time, the official PC port will likely pick up the pace once Horizon Forbidden West is released.

It should be noted that this version will not come with any additional enhancements. Since the PC version was leaked from an early build, it likely shares a lot of properties with the PS5 release.
Once the official port from Nixxes Software is released, PC players can expect enhanced ray tracing, higher-resolution textures, better draw distances, and other changes that utilize top-tier PC hardware for the best experience.
Like Spider-Man 2, Wolverine was also leaked on the platform recently. This was a result of a massive data breach after hackers gained access to internal files from Insomniac Games.
The same leak revealed three potential DLCs for Spider-Man 2, future X-Men games from the studio, and insight into PlayStation’s plans moving forward.
