Ubisoft has recently released Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which has become the biggest current-gen release for the French giant. With this release out of the way, Japan is the next stop for the series with Assassin’s Creed Red.
According to recent reports, the game will feature two protagonists. It appears one of them has been shown for the first time recently, with a Ubisoft developer updating his LinkedIn profile banner to highlight the female shinobi.
Why it matters: Ubisoft has very high hopes for Assassin’s Creed Red, as it recently claimed that the game would be the biggest blockbuster of next year.
Pierre Boudreau is an award-winning writer for Ubisoft who has recently updated his LinkedIn profile. Looking at the banner, it appears the writer has given fans the first look at Assassin’s Creed Red’s female protagonist and the game’s logo.
While this banner has not been confirmed to be related to the next release, the red background and Japanese architecture seem very reminiscent of the game’s first reveal trailer.
It has also been noted that the banner appears to include kanji on the bottom right below the Assassin’s Creed logo, further confirming the relation to the entry set in Japan.
Nonetheless, it is unclear whether this image was accidentally put up by the writer or if it is part of Ubisoft’s marketing campaign. Many fans believe the former to be true, but Ubisoft has yet to comment.
Whatever the case may be, we finally have our first look at the female character of the game.
While the recent games in the franchise have given players the option to pick between male or female characters, Assassin’s Creed Red will feature both male and female characters.
This entry will mark the beginning of Ubisoft’s massive push for the series. Recently, the gaming giant has increased the number of developers involved in the franchise, hoping to expand it in the future.
A recent leak has also suggested that Assassin’s Creed Red is fully playable already, and Ubisoft will reveal more information about the game in early 2024.
