While the Radeon RX 7600 is a compelling option from AMD, there is still demand for yet another graphics card that would fill the gap between this option and the recently released Radeon RX 7700 XT.

In terms of performance, the Radeon RX 7600 lands close to a Radeon RX 6600 XT or RX 5700 XT with support for new technologies. This includes better ray tracing and AV1 hardware encoding.

However, it is also the only card in the Radeon RX 7000 lineup with 8 GB of memory. AMD has traditionally offered excess VRAM, but the same cannot be said for the Radeon RX 7600.

According to Benchlife, a new option may be on the way from AMD. The source believes AMD may ship the Radeon RX 7600 XT with 16 GB of memory.

A 16GB Radeon RX 7600 XT would be quite a compelling option as the higher memory would not only make it future-proof but would also make it a solid option for 1080p gaming.

There are two ways AMD could go with increasing the memory size on the Radeon RX 7600 XT. The company could use the Navi 33 SKU with its limited bus interface. This would increase the memory without offering performance benefits over the non-XT Radeon RX 7600.

The alternate would require a slightly cut-down version of the Navi 32 SKU featuring 16GB memory. This approach would not only lead to more memory compared to the non-XT version but would also lead to additional GPU performance, filling the gap between AMD’s cheapest RDNA 3 offerings.

Compared to the rest of the Radeon RX 7000 lineup, the RX 7800 XT, in particular, has seen a spike in demand. AMD could aim for something similar by offering compelling options at the entry-level.

The memory price of 8GB modules has also dropped significantly since previous years. Therefore, it would not be hard for AMD to release a 16GB variant of the Radeon RX 7600 XT. However, only time will tell which direction AMD decides to go in.
