Starfield has been 25 years in the making for Bethesda Game Studios. The latest release promises to take players on a grand adventure through an expansive universe, allowing access to 1000 planets.
While the game is nearly ready to release, players recently expressed concerns about Microsoft and Bethesda Game Studios’ lacking marketing strategy. However, the studio remained calm and told players to have faith in the team.
A few days later, the developer has confirmed that Starfield has gone gold.
Why it matters: This milestone confirms that Bethesda Game Studios has mostly wrapped up development, and the game is unlikely to be delayed.

In addition to the announcement, Bethesda Game Studios confirms the official pre-load dates.
Xbox users looking to play the space RPG can begin downloading the game tomorrow. Fans should also note that Starfield will be available on Xbox Game Pass, and this move should ensure users with slower internet connections can play immediately at release.
On the other hand, PC users can pre-load the game on August 30. This leaves just two days before the early access period, but users with standard editions will have plenty of time to download the game before September 6.
While Starfield is undoubtedly the biggest game for Xbox in 2023, it holds the potential to be among the most critically acclaimed releases of the current generation.
The developer is expected to send out review codes this week, so critics will likely begin to share small teases of their experience in the coming days. All of this should culminate in an exciting few weeks leading up to the launch.
Fans looking to play the game as early as possible can also buy the premium edition to begin their journey on September 1.
