Hi-Fi Rush was the first major first-party release for Xbox in 2023. The game was released as a shadow-drop immediately available to players after its initial reveal. This was a pleasant surprise, and the game quickly became a massive hit.

Tango Gameworks has earned various accolades for the rhythm action game. In addition to stellar reviews, Hi-Fi Rush received the best original IP award at the Develop Conference recently.

The game has continued its success with another milestone, and Hi-Fi Rush has just reached over 3 million players.

Why it matters: Hi-Fi Rush was a new IP for Tango Gameworks and a much different game than the studio’s previous releases. Therefore, it was considered a risky endeavor, but the reception exceeded all expectations.

Like all first-party Xbox titles, Hi-Fi Rush is available on Xbox Game Pass.

This immediately introduced the game to millions of users on the Xbox and PC platforms. For users who prefer ownership of games, the rhythm action game can also be purchased on Steam.

Tango Gameworks has thanked the players for this massive milestone, and the studio has recently added an arcade challenge in the form of free DLC. The DLC adds new content like a turbo mode, additional soundtracks, and more.

All of this adds more content to an already exceptional release from Xbox.

Upon release, Hi-Fi Rush won fans over through its electrifying soundtrack, engaging gameplay, and charming aesthetic.

All of these qualities ensured that Xbox was able to start 2023 with a solid release in January. The gaming giant seeks to continue this momentum through Starfield and Forza Motorsport, with both games scheduled for the next few months of the year.

Hi-Fi Rush was among the few shadow-drops of 2023. Despite limited marketing from Xbox and Tango Gameworks, the game has been able to reach an impressive milestone, highlighting the studio’s phenomenal work on the rhythm action game.
