Elden Ring became the biggest hit of the last year, winning the Game of The Year award at TGA and bagging 145 GOTY awards in total.

Though the game celebrated its first anniversary in February, it has maintained a massive audience and recently became the best-selling game on Steam after a compelling discount on the popular game.

While many users have already played FromSoftware’s latest release, it could become even more popular soon. A recent tweet from Microsoft’s Sarah Bond has possibly hinted at Elden Ring joining Xbox Game Pass.

Why it matters: A massive game like Elden Ring would immediately lead to a surge in Xbox Game Pass subscribers. It would also encourage players who avoid the Souls games to try the title without spending the full price.

Sarah Bond from Xbox tweeted two emojis yesterday. One depicted an older man, and the other showed a ring. Later, she confirmed that the tweet referenced Elden Ring. Sarah Bond also added the Xbox tag with the emojis.

Following the tweet, many Twitter users began to wonder if Sarah Bond had hinted at Elden Ring’s arrival on Xbox Game Pass. While nothing is confirmed, this would be a notable addition to the subscription.

FromSoftware is gearing up to release the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion towards the end of the year or early 2024. Game Pass would introduce the title to new audiences, bringing it to everyone’s attention again before the expansion.

However, fans are suggested to take this information with a grain of salt, as nothing has been officially confirmed by Microsoft.

Elden Ring has sold over 20 million copies worldwide. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has also been in development for over a year, and reports claim the developer has combined two DLCs for the expansion.

Therefore, there is plenty of excitement for the game, and Microsoft would benefit from adding it to the Xbox Game Pass library.
