Assassin’s Creed is one of the world’s biggest and most loved franchises. Fans are anticipating the next title of the franchise, with Assassin’s Creed Mirage confirmed to be arriving on October 12.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage looked stunning in the previous 8 minutes of gameplay with its classic elements. Following various details, a recent Reddit AMA confirms Ubisoft does not have plans for DLC or post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Why it matters: Nearly every Assassin’s Creed game over the last few years has received DLC content. This would mean that Mirage is setting itself apart in yet another way from recent titles.
While Assassin’s Creed Mirage is similar to games like Assassin’s Creed Unity in terms of scope, those games did not skip DLCs. Stephane Boudon was recently asked about DLC plans for the next few months after release.
The developer said:
“For now, Mirage has no plan for DLC or extensive post-launch.”
This is not surprising, considering the game started development as an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
However, Ubisoft did not deny a potential DLC release. The developer currently has no plans for post-launch content, but this can always change with enough demand from the fans.
A similar scenario was observed with Final Fantasy 16 recently, and the studio is now considering the possibilities for DLC releases.
Regarding the franchise, Ubisoft has massive plans for the future, as 11 Assassin’s Creed games are in development. This could also be why Ubisoft does not plan to make DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The gaming giant is likely focused on ensuring future releases go smoothly. A recent report claimed that a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4 is currently in development, and Ubisoft believes Assassin’s Creed Red will be the biggest blockbuster of 2024.
