The Xbox Games Showcase was received well by general audiences. Many believed it outperformed the Summer Game Fest and the PlayStation Showcase in the last few weeks.

The showcase featured first-party games like Fable, Avowed, Starfield, Hellblade 2, Forza Motorsport, and more. However, similar to other showcases, there was a large presence of third-party games at the event.

Following the event, PlayStation fans quickly pointed out that 14 out of the 27 games from the event would also be coming to PlayStation consoles.

Why it matters: PlayStation’s event was criticized for its heavy third-party presence, with fans claiming the gaming giant did not show enough first-party games.

Xbox Game Pass

Xbox released a visual after the PlayStation Showcase, highlighting the third-party games from the event coming to Xbox. Many fans saw this as a trolling attempt. While PlayStation has not made a similar visual, fans have taken it upon themselves to create one for the gaming giant.

Games from the showcase coming to PlayStation include titles like Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Star Wars Outlaws, Payday 3, and more. Additionally, first-party Xbox games like Fallout 76 will receive new DLC on PS4 and PS5.

However, this can still be considered an impressive showing from Xbox. Nearly half of the games at the showcase will be exclusive to Xbox consoles and PC. Microsoft has also stated that 21 games will be headed to Xbox Game Pass.

The highlight of the event, Starfield, will also be an exclusive coming in 2023. While PS5 owners cannot enjoy Starfield, games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 16 should ensure PlayStation users have plenty of games to enjoy.
