Fable fans have been waiting 13 years for Xbox to revisit the franchise. Back in 2020, developers Playground Games confirmed that a new Fable game was in development, but the game has been missing from major Xbox events ever since.
However, Xbox appeared to be hinting at Fable gameplay recently. Andy Robinson, a journalist, and insider, has also hinted at a Fable reveal at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase 2023.
Why It Matters: The game has been in development for several years. The franchise is among the oldest Xbox IPs, and Fable would improve Microsoft’s current first-party offerings.
I reckon the Xbox conference tomorrow is going to be fablelous

The next Fable game will serve as a reboot of the franchise instead of a sequel.
Fans may get a proper gameplay trailer for the title at Microsoft’s event, as they confirmed that the showcase would not feature CGI trailers. This could also mean a release date may show up at the event.
The game was also previously hinted to be presented at the Xbox Game Showcase by the official Xbox Twitter account. The Twitter account posted a video featuring a Fable theme with a trail of magic glitter, similar to the navigation guide in the games.
Fable will be developed by the renowned studio behind the Forza Horizon games. The game will also use the same engine as Forza Horizon, hinting at top-notch visuals. This should assure fans about the quality of the game, as Playground Games has always delivered phenomenal products.
Last year, the Xbox Vice President stated that he could not wait to show Fable to the audience, adding to the excitement. The Xbox Games Showcase is set to premiere on June 11th, 2023, featuring over an hour of game reveals, with thirty minutes dedicated to Starfield Direct.
