Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released just over a week ago and received positive reviews from critics. It managed to outsell the launch sales of its predecessor by 30% in the UK, and during the company’s recent earnings call, EA revealed that the game had reached millions of players since it was released.

The CEO of EA, Andrew Wilson, said they were overjoyed with the game’s performance. He also believes the 6 weeks delay was worth it as it allowed the team to polish the game. He further said:

“Within the first few weeks, millions of players have joined Cal Kestis and BD-1 in their rebellion against the Empire.”

Why it matters: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was flooded with negative reviews on Steam as the PC port was poor at launch. After that, the score on Metacritic began to fall for both PC and PS5 due to technical issues. As such, many believed the game had a rocky launch.

The CEO went on to highlight the positive reception for the game, along with comments like ‘Game of The Year contender’ from certain outlets.

Previously EA promised to fix issues with the game. Various patches have been released on consoles and PC, with more expected in the coming weeks. This should help PC players improve their experience.

Despite all those issues, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been a massive success for the developers. Wilson also said that Respawn Entertainment built on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s foundations, which appears to have worked out for the latest game.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has exceeded the company’s expectations and is already surpassing its predecessor. Hopefully, the upcoming patches and fixes will ensure fans can enjoy the game to its fullest.

Aside from that, what do you think of the game’s success?
