After the launch of the high-end RTX 40 series from Nvidia, gamers are now looking forward to the latest XX60 series cards from Nvidia. Both the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti are expected to launch soon, as suggested by videocardz.

The source claims they have received a calendar from board partners. According to the calendar, the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will be shipped to its respective board partners as soon as May 5, 2023, while the launch day is set for around the end of May.

Furthermore, there is no information regarding the launch of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 on the calendar. Computex, which will be held in Taipei from May 30 until June 2, is also around the corner. Nvidia might have plans to unveil its new series of cards in that time frame.

Both the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti are expected to come equipped with 8 GB of VRAM. Among the two, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will have the same board number as its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (PG190). While the GeForce RTX 4060 is expected to use a new board number PG173.

Currently, there is no information regarding the pricing of the new budget RTX 40 series cards. Though previous rumors suggested, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will retail for $400, similar to the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. However, we would like to see more than 8 GB of VRAM since games require much more than just 8 GB, even at 1080p.

Nvidia’s competitor, AMD, is also gearing up to launch a new series of RDNA3 cards to compete in the market. It is expected to bring three new cards to the table, including the Radeon RX 7600 XT, 7700 XT, and 7800 XT.

It appears that, unlike Nvidia, AMD will be sticking to offering more VRAM for less price. Current generation games like The Last of Us Part 1 and the recently released STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor can easily max out 16 GB of VRAM.

As such, we are not sure why Nvidia is still opting to go with less VRAM than its competitor. Ultimately, sales and perception of the graphics cards will all depend on how much value they provide for the money.
