PlayStation has found incredible success on PC with IPs like Spider-Man, God of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn. While the latest release, The Last of Us Part 1, has been a letdown, the gaming giant has become a fan-favorite on PC.
This year, Sony has already released games like Returnal on PC, but it looks like the company is not done just yet. In a recent report, Sony confirmed more PC ports are coming.
Sales of Sony’s first-party software grew by 41% last quarter. While a large part of this increases concerned games like God of War Ragnarok, it is safe to say that PC releases also boosted sales by a considerable margin.
Games like Spider-Man have found a new home on the PC platform. Currently, Sony is working on big projects like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and The Last of Us multiplayer. Going by the trend, these games are expected to arrive on PC sooner or later.
PlayStation is also investing in live-service games, with a few expected to be launched as free-to-play titles. These games could arrive on the PC platform at much shorter intervals or even day one in some cases.
Many fans are also hoping that the increased revenue and focus on PC gaming will lead to better-optimized ports in the coming months.
A recent rumor hinted at Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart being the next PC release for PlayStation. While this has not been confirmed, it would be great to see the franchise finally come to PC.
With that said, PC users should prepare for more PlayStation games on the platform. This could mean that games like Demon’s Souls, God of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, and more may soon join the growing platform.
