Xbox Game Pass is among the best subscription services available right now. Competition like PlayStation Plus is strong but Sony recently claimed Game Pass is the superior platform.
Previously, it was reported that Xbox Game Pass crossed 25 million subscribers. This was an impressive figure but it did not clarify the percentage of users that were subscribing on the Xbox consoles or PC.
Mark Skwarski is a Group Product Manager at Microsoft and his LinkedIn profile has now revealed that Game Pass has reached over 15 Million players on PC.
This is an astounding number since Xbox is still largely a console brand.
However, Microsoft’s recent efforts have shifted focus toward a broader approach to Xbox. This means focusing on platforms like PC, mobile devices, and more through services like Game Pass and Xbox Cloud.
Microsoft also provides high-quality first-party games like Doom Eternal and The Elder Scrolls 5 on PC. This has likely pushed many PC users to subscribe and will continue to do so with upcoming games like Redfall and Starfield.
It should also be noted that there might be an overlap between console and PC Xbox Game Pass users. However, the figure is still extremely impressive.
An analyst previously claimed that Game Pass could reach a total of 50 million subscribers if the Activision merger succeeds. This would likely push the 15 million PC figure even higher.
Microsoft has done a remarkable job with Xbox Game Pass, making its subscription platform a fan-favorite and allowing developers to show their creativity. This has led to an appealing offering, even for gaming fans who do not own Xbox consoles.
