Update:-
EA has changed the original announcement, and the gaming publisher will no longer remove Mirror’s Edge from digital stores.
Original Story:-
EA has recently confirmed heartbreaking news for a few of the best games from the publisher. Classic Battlefield games like Battlefield 1943, Bad Company, and Bad Company 2 will be delisted from online stores in just over a month on April 28.
The announcement further reveals that online servers for these games are being shut down on December 8, but fans can continue to enjoy offline features. The first-person parkour game, Mirror’s Edge is also being delisted.
Despite being several years old, the community has not completely abandoned Battlefield games like the Bad Company titles.
These games have cultivated dedicated communities over the years, and many fans continue to enjoy their favorite entries in the Battlefield franchise. However, these players will no longer be able to revisit the online gameplay once the servers are shut down.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Mirror’s Edge are available on popular platforms like Steam for those looking to try the games before they are removed. Mirror’s Edge is currently on sale, going for the low price of $4.99 on Steam.
EA has also shared a few thoughts for each game in the official announcement. The publisher has looked back fondly on the multiplayer havoc in the older Battlefield games and the exhilarating parkour experience from Mirror’s Edge.
