The Dark Souls games have always been met with fantastic feedback since the first entry was introduced. All the installments in the series have received a lot of love from fans from all around the world.
One of the highly notable games of the series was Dark Souls 3, which is currently the last installment in the Dark Souls franchise. Upon release, it did well, thanks to the amount of heart put in by the developers and the foundation laid by its predecessors for it.
However, the game was released in March of 2016, almost 7 years ago, and many people are curious how it would appear if it were based on modern-day graphics.
Well, a modder named Jonx0r took matters into his own hands and ported Dark Souls 3 to Unreal Engine 5. The result is gorgeous and makes it appear like it was released yesterday.
The gameplay uploaded to the YouTube channel featured 3 locations in the game, which were the Cemetary Of Ash, the Ludex Gundyr’s Arena, and the Fireline Shrine. Each of these locations looked fabulous, and a better job couldn’t have been done, and it showed us both the capabilities of the modder and the Unreal Engine 5.
It’s encouraging to see that the game fans are taking matters into their own hands, as a new installment in the Dark Souls series does seem highly unlikely, as there has been no word on it so far.
We are excited and looking forward to what the future holds for the Dark Souls franchise. This is the limited information we have for now, but we will be looking for more news regarding Dark Souls 3 in the future.
