Knockout City is an action video game developed by Velan Studios and published by Electronic Arts. The online PVP “dodgeball” game was released in 2021 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms and was made free to play last year.
But the game was not well received by the gaming community. The development studio announced in a tweet that the Knockout City online Server will shut down on June 6th.
“This was an extremely difficult decision for us, but a necessary and important one for our studio,” farewell blog post from Jeremy Russo, game director at developer Velan Studios.
A new private server version which will be a standalone version of the game for the PC platform will be released so the players can continue to play the game on their private servers.
On February 28th, the team will launch the game’s final 9th season, which will last for 12 weeks, with six significant events, each going for two weeks. The studio will remove all the real-money transactions from the game on the release of its last season.
Below you can watch more details about the Future of Knockout City;
The last season will include many things and events where you will get a massive amount of XP, style Chips, and thousand of holobux. Every event’s shop will be on a colossal discount sale, and every rare cosmetic of the game ever sold will be available to buy for the players.
The good thing is that the price of the last premium season pass will be reduced to 50 holobux, which you can easily earn through the free pass of the game.
