Use A Different USB Cable

A faulty USB cable can be another reason you may face a problem with your controller’s working. Plus, some cables cannot transfer data between the devices. Switch to a USB Type-C Cable compatible with your wireless PS5 controller, then connect it to the PC. 

Restart Your PC

The third troubleshooting method will be to restart your PC. Often, there may be a glitch or temporary bug present within your PC, which could prevent the controller from working. A restart will clear the computer of these hindrances, thereby allowing a hassle-free operation of the PS5 controller. Here is how you can restart a Windows 10 PC.

3. Grab a thin, pointed object, such as a paper pin or a toothpick.
4. Spot a tiny hole on the back of your controller. The Reset Button is within it. 
    

   

5. Insert the object to push the button. Long-press it for about 5 seconds.
   

   

6. The controller will now reset to its factory settings.

Re-Pair The Controller To The PC Via Bluetooth

This fix comes in handy if you rely on Bluetooth to connect your PC and the PS5 controller. You must re-pair the controller with your PC since the previous connection may develop glitches. Use these steps to carry out this solution.

1. Go to the PC’s Settings from the Start Menu.
   

   

2. Find and select Devices.
   

   

3. Choose Bluetooth And Other Devices from the left panel.
4. You will see a list of paired Bluetooth devices.

   

5. Click on Wireless Controller or the set name of your PS5 controller.
6. Hit Remove Device.
   

   

7. Once removed, click on Add Bluetooth Or Other Device.
   

   

8. Select Bluetooth.
   

   

9. Hold the PS+Create Buttons on the controller simultaneously until the lights begin flashing.
   

   

10. Connect to the Wireless Controller when it pops up on the scan results.

Perform A Bluetooth Troubleshooter

Update The Bluetooth Drivers On The PC

You need to ensure that the Bluetooth drivers on the PC are up-to-date to use the controller on your PC. This is how you can update the Bluetooth drivers on your PC.

1. Right-click on the Start button.

   

2. It will open a sub-menu. Go to Device Manager.
   

   

3. Select Bluetooth to view all the paired devices.
4. Right-click on the Wireless Controller.
5. Pick Update Driver from the mini-menu.

   

6. Proceed with Search Automatically For Drivers.
   

   

7. It will search and update the drivers to resume your controller’s operation on the PC.

Use The DS4Windows Software

The DS4Windows Software allows your PC to recognize the PS5 controller as Xbox 360 controller to run your desired games. The process is simple and quick, so follow it to the end.

1. Install the latest DS4Windows from GitHub.
2. Extract the ZIP File once installed.
   

   

3. Open the Extracted Folder.
4. Click on the DS4Windows icon. It looks like a multi-color controller.
   

   

5. It may ask you to download a NET Framework from Microsoft. Install it and then relaunch the folder.
6. Pick Appdata from the pop-up.
   

   

7. The following pop-up should read, Welcome To DS4Windows.
